Blog 4: Postgraduate Studies

 Hello Readers :)

About the postgraduate studies, I have already an idea of what I would like to do. First I would like to do a Master in chemistry, and after that do a PhD in chemistry too.

The last month the teacher in charge of organizing and seeing the applications to do the master gave a talk to everyone who want to have this information, I went to it and I discovered that I can do the master at the same time that I finish my career. Basically I just have to do one thesis to graduate and to get the master. I am very motivated and I have cosiderer applying for the master when possible. An important thing is that you need some requirements to postulate to the master, you need a minumun grade average of 5.0, bachelor's degree, have not debts, and a bunch of papers like certificate of degree, certificate of university studies with qualifications, curriculum vitae, and some pictures of myself.

If I get into the master I would like to do my thesis about enviromental chemistry, I think that is a very interesting topic and most of all very useful on this days.

After that I would like to aplly to a PhD, I would like to do it in other country (preferable in Europe or United States), because it would help me to use my english and I could get to know other places with more developed technologies that in Latinoamerica. But I still need time to organize myself better, mentally prepare for those changes, and to decide if I am going to take some time before I finish the master.

For now I am going to focus on looking at issues related to money, because apparently the scholarships that the state gives are very limited (about 13% of applicants obtain them). And as for motivation, I have plenty. :)

Blog 3: My Dream Job

 Hello readers!

I'm going to write about my dream job, but not my dream job when I was a kid, over the time I have become more mature, so I am trying to make a life plan regarding my future jobs.

First I would like to work in a pizza shop like Domino's Pizza, I always thought it would be fun. The process of making the pizza, wrap them in boxes, complete the orders, even be the cashier. I thing that it (this job) would really help me to get started in the laboral world, and I would learn to work under pressure, and in team with people that I don't know.

After that, when I finish my chemistry career, includying the postgrades and all that stuff, I would like to work inside a laboratory, either organic, inorganic, analitic, etc. I think that being in a laboratory is one of the funniest thing that I do on my career, make the reactions with your own hands is the best feeling, and mostly the feeling of knowing what are you doing with the chemistry compounds that you are using, and knowing the product that you are forming. And for people shy like me it is a really good job.

And finally (I still don't know what to do) maybe work in a nuclear plant, or become a college teacher, or keep studying and working in a lab. But I have a sure idea, I want to go to another country for any of the three options that I mentioned before. I think that Chile isn't that developed in Nuclear Energy, and I would really like to study in other countries, although it is difficult, either for the language or the lonliness.

Blog 2: My best Holidays

Hello readers,

One of my best vacations (that I remember), was when me and my family traveled to a cottage close to Linares, like 4 or 5 years ago in January, this house was wonderful because it was next to a river, and we could go and have fun in there all day. The best part was the night, because we always ate marshmallows and barbecue along with the heat of the bonfire, and we slept in tents hearing the sound of the river all night (for me is so relaxing). We stayed there for a entire week, and we used to travel during the day to other lakes and waterfalls arround the area. And the days that we stayed home we shoot to cans with a BB gun (under the supervition of an adult).

I think that this is one of my best holidays because it was super fun and my closest familiars were there. Also those were my last real vacations before the pandemic, so I think they were more significant.

One thing that I remember were the afternoons after we get back to the cottage, and we had to take a shower. The shower was a hose with super cold water, and the bathroom was a little wooden shack with dirt floor. Another bad thing was the gigant spiders arround the area, they are so terrifying, and little crabs hidden among the rocks in the river. Despite these negative things, these vacations were definitely worth it and they were a lot of fun.

Blog 1: A Country I would like to visit

Hello readers,

If I had to choose a country to visit I would really like to visit Italy, mainly because I love all the architecture of the ancient civilizations, like the ruins of this ancient cities and the art in the vatican city.

Italy is a very old city, you can see it in its the monuments, like the well known Roman coliseum and the leaning tower of Pisa. If I had to choose an specific place to visit I think I would choose the Vatican, not because I am a religious guy but because I'm a fan of all the art related to religions, like the Sistine Chapel painted by Michelangelo. The entire Vatican City would be a museum to me, I would need like 2 terabytes of memory to be able to store all the photos I would take.

Saint Peter's Square, Vatican                                                                                      Colosseum, Rome

Also is so interesting that the Vatican is a country inside Rome with its own jurisdiction, the capital of Italy. The Vatican city became independent from Italy with the Lateran Tready in 1929 under the command of the Holy See. The Holy See is administered by the Roman Court, wich is the central government of the Catholic Church.

Flags of Italy and Vatican                                                                                                  Sistine Chapel

I would like to live in Italy, but first I would like to learn to speak Italian (I have heard that it's not that hard to learn), then I would look if there is work or some way to continue with a postgraduate degree in my chemistry career, and if all that possibilities are abaible I would really think about going to live there.

Thanks for reading ;)
